Biennial Congress and Annual General Meeting, 2022

Introduction 

The Ghana Library Association is pleased to announce that the 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Association will be held in-person on the 24th and 25th November 2022. 

Theme

Resilient Libraries for inclusive Information and Education towards Agendas 2063: the Africa we want

Sub-themes 

The 2021 AGM will be organized around the following sub-themes: 

1.      Libraries in inclusive education towards the attainment of Agenda 2063

2.      Building resilient libraries towards Agendas 2063

3.      Implementation of Agenda 2063 in libraries

4.      Library education and information provision towards agenda 2063

5.      COVID‑19 and Agenda 2063 achievement in Libraries

6.      Library strategies towards the attainment of the Agenda 2063 post Covid-19

Guidelines for the submission of proposals for paper

•      Title of proposed paper/poster   

•      Name(s) of speaker(s) 

•      Speaker(s) institutional affiliation 

•      Speaker(s) email address 

•      Abstract of the proposed paper (up to 250 words) 

•      Professional profile of speaker(s)  

Format and Language: 

The main language of the conference is English. Each paper proposal should address the theme and/or sub-themes, and should include the following: 

•      A research title 

•      An abstract of 250 words 

•      Keywords (minimum 5) 

•      A list of author (s) 

•      Institutional affiliation and Email/telephone 

All submissions should be in Word format (for abstracts with special characters, also submit a pdf version) using Times New Roman (12pt) Spacing – 1.5. 

Length of paper

Papers should be 3,000 to 5,000 words long, submitted in Word, fifteen minutes will be allowed for presentations, with ten minutes for discussion for each paper.

Guidelines for the Submission of an Abstract for a Poster Presentation

A poster submission must include an abstract as an introduction to the poster. The Abstract should be 250 – 300 words maximum. Please include:

•      title of the poster 

•      overview of what the poster intends to present

•      indication of the significance of the topic

•      name(s), contact details (including email) and affiliation(s) of the contributor(s).

•      Where the submitted work comprises more than one poster, a maximum of five illustrations will be accepted, with a summary that may not exceed 1,500 words.

Please Note: 

Full length papers accepted and presented at the AGM, will be considered for publication in the Volume 29, issue 1 of the Ghana Library Journal in 2023.
